  • I chose to review this book because rarely do I come across benevolent alien abduction accounts. Indeed, Hartmut Jager's cover illustration even depicts a smiling E.T. delicately floating our dear Earth in its right hand. The married couple who co-edited this book are ufologists, and they compiled some reports of positive close encounters of third and fourth kinds. They met the experiencers through a support group and found that in the end, although they maybe suffered traumatic episodes, the people have positive outlooks on their abductions.

An account by a man named Ron, for example, learned exactly how alien crafts manipulate within a planets gravitational pull, and how to use it to leave the atmosphere. Another, Brian, has had experiences with more "robotic-like" beings, unlike the "Grey" beings that what people these days visualize. He learned from them that they disagree with meddling in human evolution, and it's up to us to solve our own problems.

Chapter 15's title is "The Meaning and Message of ET Contact" and gives generalizations to possible purposes of the abductions. Chapters 16 and Appendix A give counseling and resource assistance for other experiencers. This book is recommended for open minded readers, and anyone having anxieties about the possibility that they may have similar experiences. Reading Close Extraterrestrial Encounters may give you a positive, instead of dreadful outlook on the possibility.
