Murder Off The Record is remarkable for a first book. The plot is intriguing and the characters are well written. Marnie Schulenberg produces a fine mystery by mixing elements of the obvious and ordinary with true suspense. There is room for sequels to Murder Off The Record,as the depth of Sabina's character makes you feel as though you know her. I look forward to reading more from this new novelist. Like Jacquelyn Mitchard ("Deep End Of The Ocean"), Marnie Schulenburg has taken liberties with life by twisting the everyday into the extraordinary in this novel. Perhaps they raise great literary talent in Madison, Wisconsin,(home to both authors)or maybe it's in the water, but this is as good a page turner as "Deep End" was.
