Sowing the Fruits of the Future Allison Gappa Bottke’s God Allows U-Turns for Kids

DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TX — The choices facing children today are mind-boggling. Understanding that God and their parents forgive them when they make a wrong decision is vital in helping young people get back on track. "As a youngster I had no concept of a Heavenly Father,” admits Allison Gappa Bottke, author of the hugely successful God Allows U-Turns series and founder of the international U-Turns Ministry encompassing books, a TV interview talk show and a national tour starting in 2004. “I didn't know that God not only allowed U-Turns, but that He would forgive me through any wrong direction or choice I made.” To help kids “fess up and turn around,” a new series of Children’s Choices books will be available in August of 2003. These long-awaited titles for children ages 4-7 and young people ages 8-12 encourage kids to make spirit-filled decisions using the nine fruits of the Spirit from Galatians as directional guidelines. Readers can finally begin to collect all nine books in the series, beginning with the first three—Laughter and Love, Jingles and Joy, and Picnics and Peace. Co-author/poet for the series, Heather Gemmen, is a children’s author, public speaker, and senior editor with Cook Communications Ministries. She is the author of the Tough Stuff for Kids series and a co-author of several Rocket Reader books. Illustrator for the series, Matt Whitlock, is a former Disney animator. He has written several popular children’s books, including the 2003 releases, Humblebee and The Non-Praying Mantis. He lives in Orlando, Florida. Laughter and Love is an interactive story that will capture kids’ hearts and help them make U-Turns towards the first fruit of the Spirit—love. The book uses captivating limericks to highlight the antics of Tyler, the enchanting little dog who struggles as he learns to love his sister through every situation. Jingles and Joy is a rollicking new book to help children ages 4 to 7 realize the true source of joy is not in “things” but values God gives through Christ. Written to help little ones make an early U-Turn away from painful selfishness, this interactive rhyming story helps kids take steps towards a life of joy and fulfillment in God’s will and the second fruit of the spirit. Picnics and Peace helps kids learn about acceptance and the spiritual fruit of peace. Interactive and filled with captivating rhymes, this heartfelt story examines the issues of rejection and racism through the eyes of a puppy named Jessie. Allison Gappa Bottke’s God Allows U-Turns series for adults includes the acclaimed compilation series of true short stories of hope and healing. Now the international ministry helps people everywhere realize that “the choices you make change the story of your life.” With this new series of books, the ministry will further its scope by “transforming lives through new direction, one family at a time, one true story at a time.” Matthew 7:16 says, “you will know them by their fruits.” With these compelling new Children’s Choices books, kids will begin to recognize the love of their Heavenly Father by the spiritual bounty they offer their families and the world.
